THEY ARE SO EFFING CUTE I CAN'T HANDLE IT

I know this is a 'dark romantasy' but dammit the way they met and are interacting so far has outraged me... the first impression i got of him really isn't sitting right with me. Idk but it was bad enough for me that I thought he couldn't possibly be the love interest when he first got introduced, I was like who's this jerk (complete opposite of charming unfortunately). I hope it gets better or I might dnf early.

Might honestly dnf this cus I'm starting to get sick of that whole 'what if she/he doesn't..' reluctance and obliviousness authors keep putting on the characters to elongate the courting process when it's sooo obvious they like each other ugh. I WANT AUTHORS TO MAKE UP ACTUAL VALID REASONS rather than just making them dense when it comes to simple romantic social cues, and i need REAL slow burn, not this bs.

WHY AM I WAY MORE INVESTED IN QUEEN MALINA'S POV CHAPTERS THAN ANYONE ELSE IN BOOK 5 (this one lol) !? 😭 I wasn't a big fan of her chapters in book 3 & 4 but I'm so invested in it now & I find her so comedic in a bitter sort of way, she really does grow on you.

I guess I'll give it maybee 50 more pages and if I'm still not interested, then I will have to dnf because I really want to move on to the next potentially good book rather than waste more time on this.

I'm on chapter 35, and I'm not sure how the thriller's 'plot twist' is gonna go, simply because I don't believe it's the "OBVIOUS culprit" that the narrative is trying to push at us but I'm also not sure if it would go with the "protagonist going mad and does the plot twist" narrative. I DON'T KNOW MAN, THE HUSBAND'S ROLE IN THIS TOO COULD BE AN OPTION BECAUSE I HAVE THEORIES ABOUT THAT TOO. Ok goodbye.

After chapter 39.. I'm now thoroughly confused as to where this is going haha, finally things are picking up!!

I'm only halfway into chapter 34, but I HAVE TO RANT. The author just did smth that is one of my BIGGEST PET PEEVES EVER, she suddenly made FMC a dumbass just to move the plot further.. like HELLO?? Not to spoil, I'll keep it vague but omg any average person would've thought this situation in particular is dangerous and figured it out but u had to make FMC not think about self-preservation this once?? Lazy writing!!!
