Re-Read( well it’s been 50+ years!)

This is my 4th or 5th re-read of this classic over the last 55 years since I first encountered it. Always a sublime, heartfelt journey.

Not so NEW anymore, but great stories!

Read a lot of this in my distant youth. Thought I'd give it a whirl. Always liked the practical man's views and ideas.

Already read most of Pelcanos’s library but missed the early Nick Stefanos books. So here goes...

First published in 1946, I gobbled this up as a kid in the early 60's. Found this copy at library sale- score! Filled with classic science fiction by the early masters of the genre. Love it!

Okay, so I am reviewing City of Miracles and never got to the first 2 books in the trilogy. I decided the best job I could do would be to review the entire series, so now reading book one(Stairs) and will proceed to the final book(Miracles). Damn good so far!

Pretty much conventional noir with some sagebrush thrown in. John D. MacDonald could have written the first one- but better! Didn't finish everything. Say good-bye to the 60's for now.

Finished Heinlein's "Double Star", Bester's "The Stars, My Destination"-4th read, still wonderful!, and Sturgeon's "More Than Human." Probably take a break for something more current, but will definitely come back. This is a great collection!

This is one of those books you read in between others, but from the contents it appears to be a well thought out anthology.
