The "one sentence as a book" conceit is not as tiring as I worried it would be. Funny, a lot of shadows of Pynchon (though maybe I just have Pynchon on the mind currently). Enjoying it a lot, the pages go by fast.

Every page is hilarious and full of pathos. Such a fun mix.

Cannot believe 2020 alex was terrible as to set this aside. 2025 alex is having such a blast. I am always anxious to read more whenever I set it down! love the silliness of Pynchon.

Always great to meet my man George Washington. Continuously impressed by the crazy songs Pynchon writes for his books. They never fail to make me laugh.

Truly an infinite and eternal novel. Loving every second of it though, especially now. That break in the middle really saved me. Now in the home stretch! Esther Longtree may have the most depressing story so far though, my poor pregnant madonna

Good section today. Very circular - reopening things from the start of the novel. I think I will miss this book when its over - every time I pick it up its like stepping into an opium dream. All haze, strangeness, and completely otherworldly.

Crossing the 1000 page threshold feels like a big deal today! and what a section... never thought Id say it but poor Miss MacIntosh. Mr Bonebreaker is quite the name and quite the man

Loved the whole anti electricity thing. Why do I fully subscribe? “We have blinded the eye of God by our prideful lights! The night is like day and the days are nights.”

Found myself reading deep into the night. There’s something so wonderful about that. Page 925 has got the juice. I think this year may be the year of big books for me - as uneven as this journey has been, there’s something deeply satisfying about spending so much time in one book, in one mind.

A whirlwind of sadness today
