Well written and absorbing tale about the Ft. McMurray fire storm of 2016.

Reading and discussing the first short story was like a gift from a generous writer.

Very enjoyable read. There are multiple character threads (12) but it’s not confusing or disruptive to the flow of the story. Tremain doesn't try to impress you with overly arcane word choices, yet uses interesting pairings of adjectives to keep the writing fresh. The primary characters are Peter Claire and Emilia. Christian, King of Denmark and his consort Kirsten are the main secondary characters.
