Whew. I was afraid I was going to have to stop reading because I hate a love triangle where you feel bad for the loser.

Halfway done and screaming for answers. Nothing too heavy but lots of secrets to reveal.

Taking a pause from this. Too heavy right now.

This is the second book I've read this week that has the mom being negative towards her daughter, like crushing her dreams and making fun of her. I really hope I'm not that kind of mom....

This is taking me longer than expected to read. I'm going to put it down and come back to it because I'm starting to lose momentum .

I'm not enjoying this as much as I thought I would. I feel like it's very juvenile and not a good way.

"With the tips of her fingers, she spread her ruffles out in the dust, as if by way of invitation. As the snakes swarmed her, the faded fabric vanished, leaving her with a brilliant skirt of weaving reptiles."

So many profound things are being said. VERY slow but poignant so far.

When I was in college I dated a guy for maybe 6 weeks. During that time he drove me to my house all the way in Delco. He lived in south jersey but he took the long way to my house so we had more time together in the car. Just read a part that reminded me of that. Too bad that guy who drove me home was a douche in love with his HS girlfriend haha

Ok. I know this is a series, but I'm gonna need Harper to be the one who breaks the curse and it needs to happen in book 1.

"Which is exactly why I need to let go. He might be handsome and chivalrous and well-mannered, but underneath all that, he’s a kidnapper. He turned the key in that lock this morning." -filling in the holes Beauty and the Beast left behind.

I'm having trouble getting into this one. I'm not sure why. I haven't connected to the character of Manion enough to care about her. I would be happy if the whole book was Celeana's story instead of the shifting viewpoint this time.
