There is a level of disturbing that surpasses anything I've ever read by Stephen King, and it's made all the worse by how horribly realistic these events are, the terrible possibility that these things happen to real children.

It's slow going with this book, not because it isn't good but because it's so deeply disturbing, I have to put it down to clear my head after every few chapters. In many ways, reading something in the horror genre would be less emotionally traumatizing.

First steampunk book I've read, and it's much better than I expected. I'm definitely curious where things go from here.

So far, I'm REALLY drawn into this, though it's very different from my usual reads.
