This book was so good! I had a lot of emotions while reading this YA novel about a young woman named Noor who was working with her friends to fight a school book ban. All of the obstacles that Noor and her friends faced were very extreme and the examples of racism were definitely frightening. The worst part is that the situations written about in this novel are prevalent in the U.S. today.

Wow! This was insanely creepy and disturbing! It started off with a horrific violent act against a child and kept getting more intense. There were quite a few twists and more than one time I wanted to yell at a character to call the police. It was a fairly fast read as the chapters were short and written with a variety of the characters as the narrators, making multiple cliffhangers inevitable.

This was a really sweet story! I loved it! I recommend this book for older elementary and middle school students. It provides mystery, humor, and will pull the reader through a myriad of emotions as they read all about the main character, Ryanna, and her summer with her cousins.
