all the love in the world to john green, whose podcast and youtube videos i consume every week, but i am all too aware that this book is written by john green…which is perhaps a meta commentary on his whole point of this book…much to ponder for the next 250 pages!

“and ‘cringe’ is what people who can’t feel things call feelings.” and, dare i say, that was cringe

have we considered that 2025 sucked bc it was the only year since this was published that i didn’t read it?? my bad

read in 2020, 2022, 2024, and now 2026…i like this little tradition we have :)

here we go again 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ (i can’t believe this is my fourth time reading this lol)

as someone currently taking care of their ailing father, this is hitting a wee bit close to home lol

i feel like this author loves a simile

can't believe i ever thought i would be able to get through this quickly lmao

i’ve had to switch to reading on my LAPTOP bc reading on my phone is literally hurting my eyes lmao the text is so tiny!!!

easily a front runner for the best book i’ve read this year and i’m not even a quarter of the way through 🤯

rip john steinbeck you would have loved the 2011 masterpiece album vices & virtues by panic! at the disco

what if john steinbeck was sent by god himself to kill me

will i be stoned in the town square for suggesting that john steinbeck needed an editor or…

just finished book one and…y’all. i’m starting to get it!!

one chapter in and i already feel ill…which i know is the point but still 😭😭

can anyone tell me if/when this gets interesting?

hey just warning everyone that if this ends how i fear it will then i’m giving up. not just on books, but in general. stay tuned!

i want to take every person i have ever met and shake them by the shoulders and scream “YOU HAVE TO TALK ABOUT WHETHER YOU WANT KIDS BEFORE YOU ARE MARRIED!!!!” before you’re engaged, even!!!! and check in about it!!! having the kids convo should be like working in adobe indesign. save early, save often. talk about wanting kids (or not) early, talking about wanting kids (or not) often!!

it is at this point in the novel that i would be in prison for double homicide…the audacity of men

dare i say…rainbow rowell is back?? i’m having a great time idk

also if you told teen me that i would be reading a rainbow rowell book early…i might have collapsed

i can’t believe i’m sad about a frog rn (actually very on brand for me)

i thought i was just reading this incredibly slowly (which isn’t untrue) but turns out this book is long as hell!!

episode three of the silly gay hockey show got me reading this series again lmao scott hunter has endeared me!!

ay yo goodreads, next time you update this godforsaken app with another minor tweak to its appearance that effectively does nothing to improve the user experience on this hellsite, can you PLEASE address any of the concerns we all have been asking about for years??

beginning the reread and jesus christ what did i get myself into

draymond green??? what are you doing here?????

“whether you want to or not you end up reproducing the structure of your childhood” speak for yourself, buddy. a well-trained team of scientists in a top-grade lab couldn’t reproduce the clusterfuck that i lived through

“i was looking for the river but couldn’t find it” the river, as in the allegheny river?? how can you not find the allegheny?? i’m so sorry but the pittsburgh geography of this book is totally distracting me from anything else lmao

hey yeah sorry, did this guy just imply that cmu was in DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH???? sir this is oakland
