Abandoning this translation of the Tales for another that employs less problematic lexical choices (reading it with my kids after all!). Hope to avoid the fusty Orientalism (& attendant exoticism, racism, sexism) by seeking out Yasmine Seale's new annotated translation.

Despite the obstacles and distractions, we were able to appreciate some of the humour and fantasy, laughing out loud some; will continue with Seale
