I read this book prob over a decade ago and it haunted me....so now very adult me is trying to go back to old books/series that I abandoned due to life's hiccups and try to compete them.
I'm reading like...10+ books at once so some days I read this ...some days another etc.
These r fairly short books compared to the others though so if I choose, I can finish this whole series pretty quick.
We shall see.

I thought this was the typical historical romance that Tessa dare rights. Theres way more respect in the story from men towards women and nobody effing assaults women and then says "at least just havent r@ped her yet".
I dont know if i can ever finish this book. Ive tried reading a chp before bed but I usually end up angry and choose another book.
I literally chose twilight over this crap. Might turn into dnf. Sigh

What in the actual fuck.

I read this book out of novelty for regency romance...and some recommend this being superior to the second one...
But here i am thinking if this is bad, how bad is the second one?
Not only is it incredibly boring...but we also have a scene where the guy claims her as his property to do as he pleases(not the sexy way) but she rapes him to get pregnant against his will.

ok..just finished the book...and like i originally, said: i really like kearan, way before he really became a prominent character. muahaha. Honestly, now, im sorta more interested in his story and Sorinda's than Alona's. Really, i wish the second book was from his perspective. Would be very fun. Or sorinda's. A shame.
oh and, just as i said, def no more than 4 stars. I'll give full review later.

Lord have mercy on my soul. let me tell u how this certain scene should have played out: she gets water, immediately puts three to sleep, gets the other one to bring her the key, then sleep. ORRRR: gets control of the three, makes them all shoot each other dead, gets control of last one to bring her key, then shoot self. Tadaaaa. U literally have this amazing power, and you fcking waste it. I cant let this go.....:(

im so god damned mad i stopped to type this. SHE HAD THE CHANGE TO SING THEM TO SHOOT EACH OTHER. THE END. kill me now. she wasted her time on close combat? i wanna cry. so badly.

sigh..the longer i read, after the half point, the worse it seems to get. Def not getting over 4 stars after this point..regardless of the ending. Im so annoyed at her right now for letting them use her like that in the cage without being smart about "pretend" using it and having riden fake being affected. Sighhhhhhhh. she is not very bright, contrary to what ive been told before.

im a little- a lot- disappointing that she didnt replenish her abilities with all the chances she had. She could have easily replenished and put to sleep draxen...and Riden...Im never happy when someone has special abilities and doesnt use it correctly--because "she doesnt like how it feels". Probably lose half a star from this !

sirens daughter at this stage. and not surprising, considering so many clues given from the beginning--which i will discuss more thoroughly when im done.
also, im enjoying the romance. was worried at first, because i was warned about the instant attraction, but it takes time for either to act---with excuse of using each other.

Started off ok...but im beginning to enjoy it. I really like kearan for some reason.
Alona is smart, like Riden.
Also: i did notice some people saying magic just came out of nowhere..but that doesnt make sense.
1. Shes trying to find siren map
2. her dad supposedly slept with a siren
3. she loves and feels home at sea, feel it move/understands it.
4. a lot of talk about sirens.

OK.....This is crazy. Been reading this whole day...and just....Im so scared for my original main characters that I had to write on here. FYI; fave charas being Lillac and Tarver. My feelings for them are so intense(specifically when Tarver sparks memories of the horrifyingly tragic scene in the first book) that I'm left wanting to go read the first book again. I never feel this need. I love these 2!!!!

I just started this...and while I have other hw to do and am very busy..I must say...this is sounding so freakin entertaining and fun! Already love the characters, can easily differentiate between the 2 main charas and the interviewer..and love the writing style. Different, unique, and catches my attention! It's a shame i must leave it alone for a while!:(

since Im reading 50 shades to write review, some very annoying words have seeped into this story..leaving me wondering if the author read 50 shades before writing this

So far..amazing. I've only dreamt of reading a spy/superhero/villian/strong characters/funny/yet serious/great plot/sorta like hitman/..anything u missed?its like one of the best action movie but better and in book format.lol. Ps:I have to postpone continuing the story.i have a busy week ahead of me.

So far..it's ok. I'm reading it slow because of college. Another thing I've noticed is that when I stop reading..there is no reality action to run to it..but when I do find myself reading it..I enjoy.
