This book is awful so far. Full of tone deaf assumptions, patronizing, with hints of racism. I’m trying not to put books down this year, but the corny over use of the word fuck makes me cringe and want to THROW the book down. Gag

This book is NOT it. Enjoying the poetry about slave life, but all the other stuff is boring and hella religious. It’s very off putting. Taking me a long time to get through a couple hundred pages!! I keep falling asleep or finding something to clean.
