I love everything else I've read by Anna Martin. This though, so far not so much. Awkward phrasing, obvious timeline inconsistencies, inconsistencies in characterization (a lot), and just weird s**t. Why the heck would he leave his card in his dresser? Don't most people take them when they travel?

Aargh!! It's the little things. He goes from assuming she's the wife to calling her the sister for no reason what so ever. Geez, this little crap throws me out of a story so fast and then, like an earworm, it's stuck in my head.

This is really, really like the Showtime series Shameless. Really. Large Irish family (6 kids v 8). Drug addict/alcoholic parents (right along with questionable parentage). Hiding the money earned from legal and not so legal means (including stealing from backs of trucks and pot grown in basements). I'll keep reading, assuming it's just a fluke.

Well I hope Daniel finally makes it through those nurses and visitors, cause I'm pretty sure the Red Sea never parted for Abraham. Sure ol' God told Abraham he'd deliver them someday but I think it was Charlton Heston, I mean Moses who did the actual parting. Just saying....

I am seriously considering jumping ahead to last few pages just to check on Alan and Jeff. Not at all sure this can end well and I like both these guys a lot!
