Daji, Jiang are back and I lowkey find those characters more interesting. The parallels to European colonisation and very strong, but so far they don’t seem to play much of a role so far. Rin is finally making decisions like a leader which makes this book less infuriating as earlier reads.

The opening chapters are setting the scene for the causes of the political upheaval for Aboriginal Land rights in the NT. Specifically the role of the mission (and local reverend), Yolngu Traditional Owners and the Menzies Commonwealth Government (and the Minister of Territories).

It’s been a really insightful view of PTSD and drug withdrawal impacts a persons behaviour.
