[...] aus Freundschaft wurde eine Liebe [...] Irgendwann sind beide unzertrennlich" (S.26) another win for the gays! love those gal pals for life ;-)

bad. 1950s lesbian gaslights her love interest for the whole book, then makes her end up in a mental institution + impersonates her to get her inheritance money. could not root for anyone. the moroccan setting and two (2) characters are just there for the Spice (tm). full of cliches, executed extremely badly. v irritating 'old timey' writing style. back cover compares it to tartt or flynn, which it is decidedly NOT.

look lucy... i get killing john bc he sucks but tom? he was no threat to u. ur worsening relationship to alice was literally ur own fault thru lying, stalking, and gaslighting. that's on you!! not this random college student guy who is so bland.

so we did get a kiss between two women but also the one who initiated it is shady and may or may not have killed/harmed some people and has general possessive feelings manifesting in stalking etc. so. uh. that's not good. but also nothing is like it seems so....we'll see

this was not what i expected (hah). some passages felt really inorganic, especially the ones concerning feminism? back cover says "99% of women will relate to this book" and it is so not true. it's all very british, very white, very middle class. i'll give this one two stars just bc this one love interest guy reminded me of richard armitage and that basically pulled me through the book lol

im a jordan stan now. also even tho adam wasnt a pov or had lots of book time he stole the show by being iconic: 1) immediately accruing a queer friend circle in harvard 2) driving 8 hrs on a motorcycle while listening to his sociology notes so that he could suprise his bf on the eve of his bday for three (3) hours before he had to leave again on another 8 hr journey. get u a man like that.

fpund this at the library wasnt even looking for it!!!! anyway cant wait to see my boy adam. also apparently stiefvater has found out that you can have more than 1 girl protagonist - exciting!

die schwulen eichhörnchen im personenverzeichnis haben mich neugierig gemacht aber bis jetzt musste ich fünf kapitel aus der sicht von sexistischen und ekligen männern lesen mit viel. Graphic Details die ich nicht wissen wollte. uni bücher sind immer ein delight :/

i'm only skimming over this cuz i've read it a ton so i only read the bits n pieces that i love but 2 things:
1) adam's courting of blue is literally SO CUTE i'd die if that were to happen to me
2) while i generally like gansey there are some parts where he's so so unlikable. most notably when he just. comes up with a new name for blue (jane?!) bc reasons? i do not understand it makes me so angry n uncomfortable
