Starting to meander/repeat a bit, lost that initial novelty

I've only just got through the preface itself. I was hoping I retained some philosophy jargon and theory, but it was exclusively western male centric (Locke, Hobbes, Kant, Descartes, Singer...) and a very limited POV that the female and queer was non-existent in that classroom.

Will be a challenging read but Butler's work has been referenced too many times by people who I find to have interesting ideas so-

Slow start. Lovely phrasing, but it does become a bit much at times- probably not a book to start with if you've been in a reading slump. Although in the context of the time and other classics I've (attempted to) read, the description isn't that dense.
Frankenstein is appropriately dramatic for someone who created from the dead.
