Reading this book for the second time soon after reading Remains of the Day for the second time, I am finding similarities between the two that I never thought of before and realizing more clearly why these are probably his two masterpieces

Here we go again. I was a teenager the last time I read this; now I’m two years older than the narrator Kathy and my bones hurt and I know this novel will be sadder than it was the first time 🥲
