The tone of the middle of this book is condescending and way too heavy on the sociolinguistics stuff. Plus how can you even talk about AAE as a type of 'accent' and only ONCE mention code-switching?! What?!

My other book is currently annoying me, so I chose this from the bag o' library goodness. Because vampires!

Not gonna lie, I have some trepidation about this. I feel better that all of the authors have been published, so this isn't (completely) glorified/sanctioned fanfic, but my expectations are pretty low. I'm not sure how you can appeal to both OG fans, and those brought on board by the updated Netflix series.

Something's up with hoopla, so thank goodness for those rare times when BLCC e-books are on sale. I have precious few on my Kindle, but this is one of them.

I'm helping myself to a double dose of Henry Adams this month, in honor of #JenkinsJuly!

The cover is a lie!! Olive is allergic to strawberries and had a horrible reaction right there in the strawberry patch!! *horrorface*

So far feeling kinda "meh" about this one. FMC is so worried that MMC will find out he's the father of her child that she basically can't think of anything else, so their romance is not really working IMO. Not sure if it will get better or continue to be cringey...

I'm ready for a light read, and this has the cutest cover!

This was pretty painful, right up until the end. Sad, because it had a lot of potential, but I just did not care for either lead character. Full review to come.

This feels like the end, and yet there are still 30 pages to go? SIGH.

Still Not a Fan of this "heroine" - she is as much as a bitch to the hero as his horrible fiancée.

This is not off to a great start for me. The heroine rubbed me the wrong way almost immediately, and now that the main pair have been reunited for the first time in six years, their inability to actually talk to each other is extremely irritating, ugh.
