At ten percent of the way in, I'm finding I don't much like Allen's writing. This may be a DNF (and I definitely won't tackle Anthony Adverse).

Having reached the end of Volume 1, it is a good place to take a break. Especially in that the book is actually two novels.

I'm maybe 15% of the way through these stories, reading one every now and again. It will take a while. They aren't quite interesting enough that I'm eager to read the next!

I alternately hate and love things about this book. I think that is a good thing.

In that the selections here are to be read one day at a time, expect me to finish next July!

I'm going to take this reread a page or two at a time, so it may be some months before I finish!

Starting into the third and final group of stories---giving them the time and attention they deserve.

What a marvelous book! How did I miss reading this all my life?
