I really enjoyed the first section.

I am morbidly curious to know out what other horrible things are in store for the characters of Steinbeck's epic western. I feel like the content I have read so far could easily be 2 shorter books if it were split apart, both with complete and compelling narratives.

**CONTENT NOTE** Racism, Misogyny (Steinbeck really seems to have a problem with Asian Americans and frankly it is bizarre)

Really enjoying this so far. A nice, light read. A good mix of action and character development set in the Star Wars universe. The romantic parts are well written...nothing very "spicy" though as this is still Disney(tm) Star Wars. Make sure you are familiar with the Original Trilogy (Star Wars a New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi) as these films form the background of the story.

loving it...a fast and easy read for me

Some of the science stuff is going over my head. I am learning a lot, so that's fun.

another awakening ....I do enjoy the "trippy" scenes

Some action! Plots! Intrigues! This book has several layers of characters plotting with and against each other. Hard to tell who is really on who's side some times.

I need to brush up on my Greek and Roman mythology.

Also learning new words like "ruth" (grief / compassion or the feeling of it towards another).

So far the book feels like a stage play. By far most of the action takes place in just a few locations clustered together in Arrakis (Dune). Lots of philosophical dialogue. The other books had that too but this volume seems to lean even more heavily into that area.

Checked it out again from the library. :)

Gonna add this one to the "Did Not Finish" shelf and give it back to the family member who loaned it to me.

I am enjoying this book. However, the library wants their copy back. Too many renewals!

This book is breaking my heart. So far I'm loving it.

Slow and steady. I'm just reading a chapter each night. The chapters are short and only take about 20 minutes for me. So far I am enjoying it. The world-building of "the ship" (colony ship?) is quite detailed.

Liking the MC so far. And the sci-fi world-building is intriguing.

So far so good...I was a big fan of this movie and it's fascinating to learn more of the backstory to this major event.
