I enjoyed this book immensely. There were enough twists to keep "the predictable" not predictable. The back drop - Spain during the first years of the France regime - was hard to read about in terms of how the Civil War and the Second World War impacted ordinary Spaniards. I can see a mini series someday.

I really enjoyed this memoir, more than anticipated. Leni Reifenstahl was an amazing talent whose life was permanently altered by her association with Hitler and the Nazis. She has paid a huge penalty in the public domain for that connection. The question is whether her entire body of work should be judged in the lens of national socialism. Her attachment to the Nuba people and to Africa is very moving!
