The only reason I'm still forcing myself to read this book is because my sister bought it for me as an early X-mas gift not knowing that I didn't actually want to read it anymore after the first one.

I'm just not invested anymore.

Like the first book, it feels shallow and predictable. The main character is annoyingly cookie cutter. At this point, I'm just using it to take notes on what I don't want in my own work.

My patience is very much starting to wear thin. While the whole idea behind this book is intriguing, the writing style is terribly distracting. I keep finding myself mentally correcting and editing as I read along, and asking myself why on earth the author uses parentheses constantly for no reason. But, I'm determined to push through, so I really hope something makes up for all that nonsense later in the book.

A little over halfway into the book. It's a pleasant read, but I'm starting to lose interest. It has some surprising elements, but it's soo predictable. I feel like I already know the ending. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm getting bored at this point.
