So f-ing long

Painful - I am trying to remember whether I actually even liked early Jasmine Guillory books, or if I was just so starved for books that I had terrible taste in romance novels.

If I hadn't paid money for this, I would have stopped reading this 100 pages ago. What a mess.

I'm convinced that the people driving up the ratings for this book are people who read 5 books a year. This is fine, but the number of women who claim this is the best book they've read all year??? I'm sorry, Bonnie Garmus, this is fine, but I don't need another book about a white lady's struggles with the patriarchy. This is old news.

Do people actually wait in waiting rooms while someone labors??? Labor takes hours... days sometimes. The editors of this book must also be children

Ugh. This needs to stop

The premise is interesting, and that's the only reason I'm still reading. This has the emotional depth of a YA novel.

I hope this author is 22 or something, because I hated her author blurb, "She has a bachelor's degree from Harvard and a master's degree from Columbia." 🤮

There are no female characters. You cannot be a great science fiction writer if your universe that encompasses 12,000 has no women of importance. Also, I'm bored.

I'm more than halfway through, and the only female character was a switchboard operator. She had no importance, but she was at least mentioned. How can an author be called forward-thinking or a genius if he can't imagine a world where women are people?

The author managed to make me feel anxious, but I found the entire story so tedious that I didn't bother finishing. The main character (name?) paints this story as a tale of morality - what would you do if ... - but no one with an ounce of sense would have done any of it. Reese Witherspoon clearly has terrible taste in books. Blah.

Don't want to finisah. I don't like unlikable characters, and this isn't a morality tale if no one really has morals. This is definitely a thriller, but there are just too many bad decisions for me to bother with this, even for bookclub.
