I read this book because I’m interested in taxonomy. The last 25% was by far the most interesting, but overall the book held my attention. I don’t believe fish exist anymore!

I needed something easy to read before bed and this fit the bill. Entertaining enough to keep reading, but not so gripping I ever wanted to stay up late reading. I may continue the series!

Annihilation mesmerized me and I was hoping to repeat that feeling. Unfortunately, this book fell flat and the whole book I was left wondering why the protagonist was so fascinated by Silvina? It just didn’t click with me.

Lovely. Wonderful book.

I enjoyed this book, but there was a lot of heartache and I didn’t always love the writing. I thought that Rill’s Story came to life so much more than Avery’s; I found myself a bit annoyed when I turned the page and saw it was her chapter. Overall interesting topic, cloying execution.

This was a heart wrenching read, especially in the times of our modern pandemic.
