I’ve read 29 poems so far! Very entertaining 😊

Too tired to read much in the evening !

Enjoying this…. sat in the car awaiting an appointment and knocked off 3 chapters. Very entertaining so far…

Ooh I am feeling all the emotions… there is humour and sadness in this story… best keep going as I can’t put it down with only one more , the last , chapter to go.

Loving sitting in the sun on a sunny spring evening and reading these diary entries!

AR diaries are funny in parts. I didn’t realise he was involved in the U.K. Labour Party of sorts!
It’s exhausting reading - he is here , there and everywhere. Did he ever get to relax. I’ve lost count how many flights he has been on , and how many dining out sessions too!

“Piss was piss”…. Had me laughing!

I am enjoying this story so much. It’s very evocative.

Wow… this book is full of tension. Poor Lily … what a life ; motherless , a teenager having to put up with an abusive father. Then Rosaleen who is a black servant with her own stuff to deal with in mid 1960s , South Carolina.

Ooh it’s getting rather political now!

Whaaaat?
Elizabeth Strout … your books really do pull on my heartstrings. I need the tissues. Now!
I knew I had to savour reading this one.

Oh Artie … I want to give him a hug. Elizabeth Strout knows how to get into a character and make them come alive.
