I feel like mcclanahans theme is: We are a pathetic and sad species, ain’t that funny?

Legit question: does the vomit inducing pedophilia imagery continue through the whole book?

Can someone tell me if the main character is supposed to be utterly unbearable or is that just a reflection of the author?

I don’t normally update on books but I just gotta say that I am not a huge fan of this one. It feels like an unnatural creation that is totally absorbed by itself rather than a fluid story. It could stand to lose half the exposition and get some more dialogue. Though I’m not particularly interested in anything about it so maybe that wouldn’t help.

A bit of a tough read but good. Like learning a new language.

Much better than Frankenstein

I just noticed this book was purely about writing nonfiction. I’m an idiot. Still, it’s got some good stuff.
