Sssshhhhut the fridge! - did Orwell plagiarise this?!! Because so far, so 1984 🤔

Just started Part 2.
So far, so promising.
Reads like a space opera.
The science is just short of detailed enough to seem plausible in a near future - makes it almost speculative fiction. I love being tricked like that 😌

There's a half dozen pages when Mona's Uncle's name changes to Earl?! Must be a typo 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I thought it amusing.
Otherwise - so far, so good! A YA that doesn't make me want to claw my eyes out and, thank you, no side bar story about an insipid love interest.
The fact I found it unpredictable up to about the midway point is a bonus.

It's got its moments, this little book, but, lord, if I hear "the yellow one" once more 😒🙄 + a few inexplicable moments of wandering at your own reflection right when you're about to get caught...
The real problem is - great idea, but I'm not scared at all. It's meant to be a horror? Telling me something is terrifying doesn't terrify me. Paint me that picture!

Let's see what all the fuss is about...
