Because this book is well structured, I find every part indispensable to read. In order to make it a bit less monotonous, I'm reading other economic history books alongside it, which makes me reflect more on the growth strategy's advantages and disadvantages, the state involvement (compared to other countries), etc.
Stacy Mosher has translated THE MOST IMPORTANT books on Chinese politics. Kudos to her.
