I am suuuper glad the misunderstanding/s didn't get dragged out until the end. Also sometimes this writing style feels so rich that I wonder if I'm too stupid to understand it fully.

Bit of a slow start. The nostalgia from reading this sooo many years ago is hitting hard but it somehow still feels like I'm reading an entirely unfamiliar book.

An earlier quote: "'I have definitely stepped off into a tale from the Thousand and One Nights,' Franz muttered."

I don't know why but it made me snort giggle.

I really shouldn't be surprised that so much has happened and I'm not even halfway through the story yet. Also, Shen Yu and Shang JunLin are already wayyy too sweet together for such, frankly, villainous people.

Not gonna lie, it's pretty easy to put this down and forget to come back to it.

I have a guess as to how Sal survived that crash and I don't know if I want to be right or not.

Taking me a while to wrap my head around the plot/characters.. But! I can kind of see why people really enjoy reading this

I'm not really feeling a sense of dread from this? Though it's supposed to be horror. It might be the pacing?

I still absolutely hate tapeworms.

The mall scene gave me the same vibes I got from watching the opening of Birdbox. Also, is now a bad time to admit I absolutely despise parasites?

So this is gonna be fun!

Buuuut I also judge a lady who insists on two men becoming friends with each other when one so clearly hates the other. Lady, you may not have led the guy on in that way but it's not like you're letting him go either.

I just realised I'm getting a lot of Sword of the Stranger vibes from this and it's making me want to rewatch that movie again...
