WOW WOW WOW THIS BOOK IS SO ADDICTIVE

To be honest, I wouldn’t have normally picked it out to read individually. This was assigned as a school project. The book is ok in terms of how it flows, with vivid descriptions and details unfolding what happened that led McCandless to die in the hands of the Alaskan wilderness. The topic wouldn’t really my choice of novel to read and look further into.

It’s extremely captivating to see how procedures are done in a way that readers can comprehend. These descriptions really demonstrate the amount of experience Rhee has had with trauma surgery.

“Not for the first time, or the last, I found myself wishing that we as a nation would spend even a thousandth as much money and resources developing ways to save lives as we spend on coming up with new ways to take lives.”
From what I’ve read in the first seven pages, I already want to read more. This quote especially got me, and really made me think deeper about our corrupt society.

I’m reading this book as a summer assignment, so I will see how it goes.

Reading this for 10th grade assignment. Hope it’s good. Will be documenting events where:
-Struggle, growth or change in Holden occurs
-Isolation, need for human companionships and communications, interactions with other people
