This book is wonderful, in that it is full of wonder as well as wonders.

I find myself wanting to hit "like" on every page of this book. Kingfisher is exquisitely good at the small stuff.

It is very good to be reading another one of these.

Strange book. The several threads feel oddly disconnected. They share a connection in the background, but don't seem to relate to each other very much in either a literal or metaphorical sense. Maybe I'm reading it wrong?

Beginning to realize (finally) that this is not one story; it isn't one or two conflicts that need to be resolved by the end of the science fiction adventure.

It's really a collection of tightly connected short stories, painting a picture of the remarkable universe Becky Chambers envisioned while at the same time being more emotional and personal stories than most. <3

This one's slower, less rollercoastery than the previous two. But events proceed apace, and exasperation becomes a family friend.

Reading this after having listened to the audiobook ages ago is not the best experience. Can't get the narrator's (in retrospect annoying) voices out of my head.

There's a lot of book here. I would also note that the story of Arthur's conception is TERRIBLE. WHAT THE HELL.

Weird, last half of the last book is much faster reading than anything else has been. Difference in pacing, I suppose? It just kept on rolling.

Ended up skipping most of Michael Moorcock's Sex Pistols stories, which account for a quarter of this collection. Might come back to them some time, but right now they're just not working for me.

Taking some time off from this collection in the middle of Michael Moorcock's slightly disjointed story about the Sex Pistols.

Picked this one up again yesterday. Quickly reminded of why I put it down - it's a lot more work to keep reading than anything else I had going on at the time. Find myself having to flip back a few pages when I've put it down for a while, and somehow I still don't feel like it's really settling. And yet I keep reading - it's got me good this time around.

Re-reading these stories, it's great fun half-remembering bits of plot and seeing all the best-laid plans crumple up ahead of time.

This book is long enough that despite having read it twice I am still surprised by some key plot points.

As expected, tearing through this one in a hurry. It's another Scalzi, and the first story is told by a brain in a vat.

Bought this again in paperback. Deserves a place on my shelf, and the Kindle edition really does ruin the illustrations. Of course, this means I'll eventually own the whole series in dead tree format.

Dit leest moeizaam. Weet niet zeker of het komt doordat het Nederlands is, doordat het vertaald is uit zo te zien vrij kleurrijk Engels, of doordat het gewoon geen lekker boek is.
