The reader for the audiobook is driving me bananas. Kiersten's vocal fry is KILLING ME. It's dystopian. Can we NOT have mall-chick mean girl voices?

If I had a quarter for every time I rolled my eyes reading this book, I could afford to buy a better book. Why am I doing this to myself?

Ugh. Silence of the Lambs, with teens. Seriously. Just watch Silence of the Lambs. I'll give it another try, but good grief.

Did anyone edit this book? Someone who knows US geography? I'm thinking no.

"We could change schools. There's one in Idaho."

Did they, perhaps, mean IOWA? Idaho is almost on the West coast. Not sure I can finish this one.

I have been working outdoors in 95-degree heat, but I put off my shower because I could not stop reading this book.

I cannot stop reading these books. I believe I have forgotten that other books exist. This whole series is PERFECTION

Do not read while driving. You will wreck and die. You'll die laughing, but dead is dead.

I stay confused. Not only do we change POV mid-chapter, like a circus rider on a trick pony, we also change TIME. And the chapter names are very descriptive - "Chapter 1, Chapter 2..." So keeping up with where I am and WHO I am in this book is all kinds of confusing. Too many people, too many sudden changes of time and place and voice.

It's, like, the womeniest of Women's Fiction.

Monsters named "Nippy" and "Whippy," and they are indigenous people. I... can't even.

I think the closest the author has ever gotten to the South is reruns of Dukes of Hazard.

I hate every character here. And the kid calling her father "Daddo" makes my ears bleed.

The writing is excellent. The characters GRATE ON MY NERVES. Seriously. Manic Pixie Dream Girl, much? I hate all of them.

I go in cold when I read most books, and I had no idea what to expect, but an orgy in the first 1/4 of the book was not on my bingo card. Not explicit, but unbelievably annoying.

I'm 1/3 of the way into the book, and there is no plot. The timeline is really confusing, and there are FAR too many characters who are connected to literally every other character. It's a lot. The writing itself is exquisite, but I am not sure even that will keep me from DNF.

Well-written, but the structure is a challenge. She sheer number of characters and bouncing back and forth in time makes it hard to keep track of what is going on.
