I get the meaning but like…the syntax is painful

so far, the narrator has introduced herself directly to the audience and used the phrase “le sigh.” we’re off to a horrendous start.

so far, this collection is sometimes fun but largely exhausting.

the fact that i’ve fallen asleep reading this on three separate occasions either tells me i need to get more rest or this maybe isn’t for me so far.

i think this may be the first book i’ve read that is blatantly set In The Time Of COVID which feels both disorienting and aggressively normal. weird times!

rereading this because a) i’m unhinged and b) maybe reading “a novel of the plague” while your partner is in quarantine isn’t like. the best move, mental-health-wise

Struggling to sink into this one so far. The writing is stiff with a weirdly old-timey feel.
