This is not only boring but I also disagree with the overall theories.

Disgusting and offensive. I can’t think of a group that this wouldn’t offend. I got to the end and had to skip the gruesome parts. I only read this because it’s on my bucket list challenge. Not happy at all to have read this. Gross.

I want to read this book but an hour in I need to pause. Too close to home right now as kids go to school and start dying because of the Spanish flu and I’m about to send kids to school in a pandemic. It’s well written and I’m interested but the timing is pretty terrible.

This is a really good story about a young African American girl that feels between two worlds - her predominately white school and her neighborhood and friends in a predominately Black neighborhood. This sort of reminded me of The Hate U Give but for a slightly younger audience. I will be sharing with my daughter. I thought it had a great message.
