Is cozy (U.K. cosy) synonymous with boring? Well Pan Macmillan has a list and you can judge for yourself.

Not much point in waiting for a hold and finishing and then composing a witty review when a famous British historian has had his sarcasms published already
"Perhaps the things we learn about her are not really the ones she wanted us to learn."

If you consider it as an urban fantasy and it reads like one it's better than most of what I've read in the (admitedly blah) genre. What is missing so far are those moments when the author really surprises you. But I've read a couple of her stories ...

PyranopterinMo is 30% done with America First: Roosevelt vs. Lindbergh in the Shadow of War
Brands has collected very modern quotes from speeches. Lindbergh and even Joseph Kennedy come across as having a good grasp of the world while Roosevelt is leading the country into another world war.
Roosevelt is the slick, scheming politician who tells the public that they will know what news to believe and what are lies. While he decides to run in 1940 for a third term a year before the U.S. enters the war!
