This book is painful so far. I’m very disappointed. The movement is like molasses. To go from the momentum of book 1 and drop to this pace while also introducing a new character and their POV and not knowing who the heck they are, this book feels like a filler book. A lot of unnecessary writing

There are things I love about this book. Emma is not one of them. She is stupidly and forcefully naive about how abusive her mother is. She is a grown adult who needs some serious therapy and to open her eyes about her own mom. Ugh struggling through this book and I’m not even half way 😩
