Yup, this is the kind of toxic Christian self-help that encourages people to take on other people’s offenses and abuses towards them as their own sin. Because don’t you know being angry and blaming the person who mistreated you is sin? You need to confess that!

Yup this is what broke me back in highschool and lead to all the bad things that followed.

Uuuuugh! I am so close to finishing and so monstrously fatigued by this over-sugared empty piece of confection. If the author had simply sufficiently explored one of the many plot conflicts she’d initially set up she wouldn’t have needed so much manufactured melodrama. But why am I even complaining? I’m reading a romance novel. What did I expect from the genre? Nuance?

I will finish this. I am determined

I’m at the point where I have to consider if DNF is my option. If the thesis of the book is entirely dependent on the initial propositions argued in the first several chapters, and if those propositions are not successfully established (they are not), then is there any value exploring the subsequent propositions-the validity of which hangs on the veracity of what came before?

I truly expected better.
