I understand the allure of the book, but it feels like a collection of ideas that serve as the core driving force, while the prose itself varies stylistically depending on who's in charge, but remains lacking.

Some of these ideas could be done more deftly with just better handling of the words themselves. I get it, but also... Meh.

No, I haven't read this before. I guess now is the time to give it a shot.

The Perla chapters have some drag to them, but even out eventually.

I didn't expect this book to be as funny as it is. I've laughed out loud a handful of times now. The writing is also exquisite.

Almost there. There's an occasional really great line or insight, but it's sorta meandering.
