I had to write down all the characters because who is who and why don’t I know who Dennis is by page 146 w/o referring to my notes? Very twisty still.

Listening while the Passages podcast reads and discusses the book!

I’ve been looking forward to this one bc I’ve liked a previous book by this author. I lucked out that the plot has become a murder mystery and I’m reading it in October. Can only hope there really isn’t a court scene, even though we’ve been told there won’t be a trial. Juicy

Sad. So good.

Every paragraph has become its own short story that is so well written which makes for a less flowy story line in the last 1/4 of this book

Enthralled. Fully.

I’ve wanted to read this for a while but kept suspending my Libby hold. I came across it in the library and grabbed it. It’s written really beautifully.

This is moving pretty quickly and is kind of all too good to be true

What are we getting to, here? What’s supposed to be happening? This is kind of painful to read.

“And do you know the truth beneath that secret? The water beneath the ice? It never stops. You never age out of it. Your mother lies to you, and then you lie to your children, and then your children lie to their children, and then you are an old woman, looking back at your own life, lying to yourself. A lifetime of drowning, and then you are dead.”

Twisty

Genuinely thrilled to be reading this

DNF!! Bad writing. Unlikable characters. The religious aspects were too annoying.

This book is addicting!!

It’s ok

So far so good, but not very gritty to match the reality of the setting.

V long chapters. Basically Caroline and her daughters have to appease Pa in every situation so he doesn’t act out in rage.

“Unbreakable. Females are strong as hell.”

Quick to decide DNF !!!

Hooked but nothing is really happening and what kind of name is Rogerson?

Found this in a LFL :) already invested in these story lines.

Still don’t really understand what this book is about or why every character is so traumatized. Hoping for an ending that explains it all though.

Thoroughly addicted to this book

Very dreamy, fast paced, yet suspenseful. I’m hooked and thinking about it when I can’t read it!

Found this in a little free library. I read Light on Snow every 5 years in January as tradition. The writing is so addicting and happening right during this time of year presently

Couldn’t tell you what’s happened in this book or what it’s dragging on for when the end could come together rather quickly

I’m def liking this still and continuing to think every character is a cat. I also want to call out that I don’t like different chapter POVs that repeat the same scenario but from each POV. If it was all in the same chapter/part it would flow much better IMO.
