I'm still reading this one, but I'm getting strong Shining vibes from it.

While many aspects of C.J. Box's Joe Pickett series have seemed to stray from the game warden perspective. The Mike Bowditch novels seem to have a more solid foundation in the character being a game warden. No silly special forces side stories.

It's pretty good so far. But I'm hoping that the story starts to pick up soon. It's beginning to drag.

Very slow and predictable so far.
