The introduction by Annette Gordon-Reed is so effing brilliant at addressing the effed up paradoxes of Jefferson, what we can learn, and how tumultuous this timeline is right now.

It's time for a re-read because this is happening, one way or another.

This book is filled with pain but a necessary read, goodness.

Re-reading for something I'm working on and forgot about a lot of frustration in grad school.

One of my classes didn't know there were books after A Wrinkle in Time (I knowww), and some thought it was just a movie (they're reading now), so here I am, reading this for the first time in decades.

Felt like the right effing time to re-read this brilliance.
