Ugh. Slogging along. 37%. A million characters and yet nothing has happened yet.

Six percent and already i’m tired of this anti-Christian theme. “Oh, but it’s essential to the story!” Really? The mother can’t be a freak, an authoritarian, severe or heavy-handed without the Bible or praying? Let’s face it, Anti-Christian suits today’s culture, sure as homosexuality, porn and lying

I’m really annoyed she’s trying to pass off that mostly black & hispanics served in vietnam. No, actually more than 80% of the soldiers in Vietnam were white. Im tired of this white-on-white bashing. Im going to finish this book (which i hear has some ridiculous romance in it) just so i can post this in my review

Good. But lots of back and forth. Maybe it’s only bothering me because every book I’m reading these day is doing that.

So far this book is hitting the outline perfectly. I mean that’s what authors are given nowadays if they want their books published? Right? You must include the following:
1. Hate filled white supremacist 2. Sympathies for h relationship 3. Crazy, hypocritical or nasty religious person. 4. Elitists vs. poor people 5. Apostasy is not required, but nice to have “God let my daughter die, he can get fucked.”

Meh. Deciding on whether to continue or not. Very wordy. I did read something else of hers, in the woods? Or deep dark woods? I like, but wasn’t bowled over by it.

Ugh. 13% of the way in and he’s done nothing but introduce a zillion characters

After paying for 2 stinkers (why do they only get bad AFTER I pay for them) & dumping a library “award-winner”, this looks like one I may be able to finish.

Must be pretty good- I signed up with K.U. Again just so I could read it. Really liking this author

This author is annoying. Reading along, they enter the captain’s cabin. The proceedings starts. Charles says… Who is Charles again? Oh yeah, it’s the captain. And why doesn’t she refer to him as that?? And why are there no actual descriptions of the boat? It was dark. It smelled. Yeah, so is an outhouse lady!

Fog had crept in, too, not on little cat feet but slithering like a snake on its belly.

I swear the first half of this book wasn’t written by him. (A fledgling romance novelist maybe?). Hopefully I’m at the part he wrote and I can finish it. A surprising premise, so I’m going to plod through.

Interesting. Even though this book is about a relationship, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been in one of my own, I’m not bored out of my skull! There is supposed to be a twist at the end. I hope it’s not the obvious one. (Robin)
