Completed The Locked Room. Strong finish! I think I've interiorized the 3 stories well, and even through this air of incomunicability pervading the entire book I believe I found a personal understanding of it.

Ghosts completed. Felt a bit less impactful than City of Glass.

City of Glass completed. The feeling of progressive dissociation from Quinn is harrowing. May he find a way back into his own whole self.

Che l'autore abbia voluto dedicare il primo libro non solo ad introdurre i personaggi principali della storia, ma anche a trattare alcuni aspetti spirituali che inevitabilmente saranno centrali alla costruzione del personaggio di Aleksej, è una scelta interessante. Chissà se prima della fine del primo libro si avrà un'esplorazione anche degli aspetti ateo-materialistico intellettuali, soprattutto considerando Miusov.

I wish the book managed to delve a little more into the details of certain technical issues and their relation to the events of the book. The explanation of volatility was fine but I hoped there would be more said about Wall Street strategies in general, to give a little more context. It is said pretty much why LTCM beat the market returns that well in 1994 (smaller fees and expertise in markets), but not why WS lost

The agreeable and sympathetic side of Cùchulain comes as a surpise when considered along his more passionate and hot blooded characteristics. The second and third stories do narrate of an older and probably more mature hero. The man is definitely a fascinating character among the hero characters of history.

A lot of people being exceptional, all together, at the same time

The fact that I am reading the crude recollections of a woman that always mentions how uncomfortable she feels showing herself in any possible way, shape or form, makes me truly hope I am reading something she is ready to share. The fact that the book exists should be ready proof of that but I am still not entirely positive.

Finished the first story, At The Hawk's Well. The immediate impact is that of a story that supports action and reaction against inaction. It almost feels like a call of action for all of Ireland to rise up and move towards independence rather than stay put, as would suggest the last few poetic verses of the story.

The book is still trying to have a strictly utilitarian perspective with regards to what it's trying to present. I hope the exclusive focus on business practices and managerial styles is only temporary.

Read up to Chapter 2. As with many of these productivity books, I can't shake the feeling that these collections of anectodes presented as evidence to support a certain behavioural model are something we already know deep down and the only thing that prevents us from being productive is having some level of intrinsic motivation to sit down and do work.
