There were no real stakes which made me not connect to the characters or their relationship in the same way as I did with the other books. Also the joke with burning down the kitchen felt very inauthentic as his trauma with him burning the house down and feeling like he killed his mom was a major influence for the character. I did finish it in two days so that’s a big plus.

Iconic main character, flawed, so ahead of her time, not reflective of her nature, but reflective on her role in society and as a woman. I really love it so far. So well written, accessible and relatable.
