This was my weekend vacation read and it did not disappoint. Just the right amount of drama, character development and yearning to read on a plane or on a long weekend. I enjoyed this one.

This was objectively one of the weirdest collection of short stories I’ve read, and it was unputdownable. It’s not for everyone but I guarantee that these stories will live in your brain for a very long time!

I can see why the YA reader in my house loves it. For me - it was a mashup of Scream and I know what you did last summer and similar flicks with some diversity thrown in. If I had been the age of the target readership though, I would have flipped for this book!

This was an interesting read. I thought it was a bit all over the place in the beginning but it turned out to be a nice warm read from the midpoint onwards.
The perfect vacation read.

Cannot bring myself to read Bridgerton somehow and had to read one Julia Quinn for a a discussion. I have decided upon this! Hoping everything goes well!

I really enjoyed this book. It was perfect for me at this stage as a parent with elementary school aged kids. It discusses shame vs. guilt, wholehearted parenting and the myth of perfect parenting. A lot of great insights, examples from real life and anecdotes for a parent who is also an academic.

This was my Mexico book.
Lyrical, bordering on the supernatural but with generous dollops of realism. While I loved the way it was written, I felt it was slightly apologist towards the feudal ruling class and biased towards those who tilled the land. I’m also not sure why so many authors still favour the disabled or differently abled have ESP powers trope. Good for a long, leisurely read.

A good slice of life novel that delves into the building tension before the war.

I've been struggling to get through this book. It just fails to grip my interest.
I hate to abandon books and I'm starting to wonder whether this will be the first!

Abandoning for now. Harold Bloom reveals the plot of almost all the short stories that he wants the readers to read. I'm going to take down the names of the authors he recommends in this book, read them and then return to this, to re-read like he suggests.
But I'd rather read the short stories first before a literary critic's take on them.
