The style is challenging. I’m intrigued but I’m having a hard time staying with this book.

This is probably all I’ll read of this book while still in grad school. I’m okay with that.

I read the intro to this book 4.5 yrs ago in my first grad seminar, “Intro to LGBTQ Studies.” I latched onto “homonationalism” and missed what this book has to say about statecraft, temporality, and how significant affect is to governing currently. Will def be revisiting.

I believe this book was the first monograph on zines in American culture. First 1/3 covers zines’ scifi origins and how zines are used by geographically isolated folks to cultivate alternative identities and communities.
