Bookclub book that I would never have chosen for myself.

Not a fan so far. Do people really emphasize so often the need to date when you are single? I can't tell if the book is unrealistic or if I am. But sheeesh. Let these poor singles live their lives.

Even though it is less now, I hate Malta so much.

When I suddenly realize that these books are all character driven and not plot driven per se.

I keep forgetting that there are serpents in this. What is the deal with them?

I know there are five more eventually, but please let this ending tie off my worries.

Are we just expected to remember interlude characters? Like bro you had one section two books ago, who even are you?

The audiobook has done disturbing things to my perception of how Nightblood should sound…

I feel a little disappointed, and then ashamed that I feel this way. Small gripes so far:
-too many POVs going on in sections, I don't want to be omnipresent
-too many comedic relief sections. (At least as first.) I want to feel dread and the tension feels constantly undercut
-some things are WAY over explained, were the other books like this? Perhaps they were.

I really have no idea what to assume at this point.

Oops. I realize that I started this in a rush at some point and then misplaced it with the bookmark clinging on in anticipation.

This would have been such a banger for me twenty years ago. Tween me would have been✨ obsessed. ✨

I swear I will spend hours reading only to find that a mere 20 pages of this thing have been read.

2024 stretch goal. Finish. This. Trilogy.

Also, Fitz has been out of commission in this book for nearly all of it.
