Everyone in this book sucks. They’re all so mean and cruel for no reason. Anyone who shows any signs of kindness is either killed or brutally beaten. I’m all for grimdark but goddamn, don’t we need some sort of hope to keep moving forward?

Definitely more interesting and engaging than the first one, but continues to barely scratch the surface of this large cast of characters

Man, these fae men are insanely ruled by their emotions. They would really benefit from taking a chill pill

First book is a solid 3/5 in this series. I’m surprised how basic everything is. I’m glad fantasy has been able to evolve as it has over the years.

I think the writing and plotting of this book are too simplistic for me to get excited about what's going on. Right now it's sitting near a 2 star.. so we'll see how good the ending is, lol
