"If your everyday life seems to lack material, do not blame it; blame yourself, tell yourself that you are not poet enough to summon up its riches, for there is no lack for him who creates and no poor, trivial place."

I'm reading this book while it's raining. It's night and dark outside. The sounds of frogs, the patter of rain on the rooftop, and this book feel like a warm solace.

13 - Dualistic Religions
Christianity is under the umbrella of monotheist, polytheist, dualistic, and animist views. At first, they only have monotheist view but they are mystified when it comes to questions like where does evil come from? If God is a good god, why allow sufferings in this world? That's when they adopted the dualistic approach that evil is entirely a different and individual entity separated from god

the domestication of animals was a great evolution for human lives but it's also the time where animals live their most miserable lives.

Agricultural Revolution - turning point where sapiens cast off their intimate symbiosis with nature and sprinted towards greed and alienation.

(I'm actually enjoying listening to this one. There's a lot of things I don't know about especially about the domestication of animals) :(

...the body of homo sapiens had not evolved from such tasks, it was adapted for climbing apple trees and running after gazelles not to clearing rocks and carrying water buckets. humans' spine, knees, neck and arteries paid the price.

the studies of ancient skeletons indicate that the transition to agricultural brought about a plethora of ailments.

5 -- The Agricultural Revolution

the average farmer worked harder than the average forager and got the worse diet in return. the agricultural revolution was history's biggest fraud.

"If we knew how many more species we've already eradicated we might be more motivated to protect those who survive. This is especially relevant to the large animals of the ocean."

I like that I chose to listen to the book's audio book rather than read it. It feels like I'm in a history/sociology class.

Re-reading one of my all-time favorite books. The gloomy weather made me want to read Samantha Emily Kingston's heartbreaking end for the third time.

so.. I think I know now where the Lightwoods' beautiful genes came from (Gabriel-Cecily and Gideon-Sophie put together!). And of course that red hair of Clary in TMI and her built from Henry and Charlotte. :) And Jace amazing-ness like that of Will's. :D

Will! *sobs*
Cassandra Clare absolutely did not disappoint me in this trilogy.

I think.. I need some time to make a proper review for this one. <3
