Loving it so far. The stories are to the point, the apparitions are weird and very MR James kind of monsters, except they're vividly described. I got chills from reading, I wasn't expecting them to be this disturbing.

Not enjoying the stories. They barely have a spooky element, they’re very plain.

Oh my, this is a slow read and soo little happens. The writing style is so plain that it almost feel like a joke. There are few things I like. For example, not just dolls, but a doll ROOM. A room full of creepy dolls. I hate dolls, they scare me. True horror right there.

A forgotten writer? Well yes, that’s I want to read.

This are becoming very interesting. The story of Mrs Whitcomb is slowly getting revealed. The main character is having strange visions, dreams and phantom scents. The folklore concerning the Wendish creature is what’s keeping me on edge, I saw the art work.

Only 33 pages in and I feel like I’ve read hundreds of pages. The writing style has an Ed Wood flair that’s eye watering and hilarious at the same.
Navidson. Navidson.
That name comes up every other sentence. It means nothing. Worst made up name!
I’m against everything that Navidson stands for.
The narrator has the subtle presence of a rampaging African elephant. Always judging with their 1950s presence.

There is an interesting story hidden inside this mess of a book. Charmless Lovecraftian pastiche. I’ve no idea what the book is about and it’s entertaining, but not for the intended reasons. The experience is more Mst3k than anything else.
I see dead closets!

Not far into the book and the stuff about the autistic child is making my teeth hurt. The protagonist comes across as one bitter bitch, instead of a better bitch. The part about the film industry is completely pointless waffle. Make it stop!

Not impressed so far. The writing is very simple and teen-like, the main character is paper thin . I guess it’s easy to read, but rather dull and I wish things wouldn’t be so full of peanut fillers, I’m on the fourth chapter and nothing but build up.
