Finally reached the list of Core Competencies (end chapter 3.) So far sports, gourmet cooking and the human body are all apt analogues for writing a story, and if you repeat the same thing in each of the 3 ways each time you have a point to make you fill more pages. So much for clear and concise. The Core Competencies though are thankfully simple and removed from these analogies (or now?)

Chapter 1, 14 pages of effectively "read this book to learn these mysteries" repeated in various ways makes me think more of those scam websites promising killer abs by eating some mystery magical fruit. I hope this gets better and he stops blowing his own horn long enough for his wisdom to actually be heard.
